Baku International Multiculturalism Centre launches the Winter School named “Multiculturalism as a lifestyle in Azerbaijan: learn, explore, share 2016” for students, who are interested in developing and deepening their knowledge about Azerbaijani multiculturalism and sharing experiences with one another. Winter School program provides the great opportunity to explore new topics regarding Azerbaijani multiculturalism and benefit from Azerbaijani experience to make a progress in this field in their country.
What are the goals of the Winter school?
Drawing on an increasing interest in the study of one semester course “Azerbaijani multiculturalism” already have been delivered at 11 (eleven) various universities below:
— Sapienza University in Rome – İtaly
— Charles University in Prague – The Czech Republic
— University of Educational Sciences – Lithuania
— Ural Federal University – Russia
— Sofia University — Bulgaria
— Tbilisi State University – Georgia
— Belarus State University – Belarus
— Fribourg University – Switzerland
— Poltava University of Economics and Trade – Ukraine
— Erciyes University – Turkey
— Lusofona University of Humanities and Technologies – Portugal
Winter School “Multiculturalism as a lifestyle in Azerbaijan: learn, explore, share 2016” aims to bring together undergraduate and graduate students of those universities studying this course. Along with the seminars on Azerbaijani history, language, ethnography, culture, the participants will be given the opportunity to experience the realities of Azerbaijan, such as to travel Azerbaijani regions, in which they can explore traditions, different customs and traditions of different ethnic groups. In general, we can identify following main goals of the course:
To obtain knowledge about Azerbaijani ethnology, culture and history;
To raise awareness about the “Azerbaijani multiculturalism” course not only in theory but also in practice;
To meet friends from all over the world and cooperate with them in the future.
How will you benefit from the Winter School?
While getting knowledge about Azerbaijan, students will obtain practical experience of some key points in studying Azerbaijani multiculturalism. Students are expected to share their experiences, gained during the winter school, among the students of their universities and other universities in the country. Besides, the course provides students with the unique opportunity to collect the materials, photos and information regarding Azerbaijani history, culture and ethnography and utilize them not only in their further experiences but also in our future challenges for foreign students.
All participants will receive certificates at the end of the Winter school.
Who can apply?
We look for mature, academically motivated, fluent English speaking students who are willing to broaden their horizons, get familiarized with Azerbaijani culture and learn the experience of Azerbaijani multiculturalism.
Undergraduate and graduate students may apply. Participation in winter school is available for every student but the preference will be given to those who attended the “Azerbaijani multiculturalism” course
All expenses — visa, round trip air tickets, transports, accommodation and meals within the frames of program — will be covered by Baku International Multiculturalism Centre.
