At the CEMAS Center, preeminent scholars and experts research topics of national and international relevance. We build a bridge between the worlds of academia and public policy, to inform and develop solutions to the nation’s problems and challenges. Democracy is built on the notion of an informed and active citizenry. CEMAS provides the fuel that makes this possible…knowledge in the public interest.
CEMAS tries to bridge the gap between research and practice and invites individuals and organizations to partecipate in its programmes.
Cooperation agreements have also been concluded with a number of other international partner institutes. Specifically, national and international funds has been allocated for the development of activities such as:
Historical, politics, economic, anthropology and social analysis of the Countries of the southern Caucaso, with a particular focus on Azerbaigian;
Project on rise and decline of the European Empires in the XVI-XX centuries and the affirmation of the idea of nation;
Study of the environmental and biodiversity status in the Soqotra island.
Furthermore, with the funds raised, different projects have been realized:
Project to develop a microfinance model in Uganda, coordinated by prof. Pasca di Magliano (financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy);
A scholarship on “The wheat of Odessa. Reality and commerce in the Ottoman East” (sec. XVI-XVIII).”;
Activation of the course of language and Ottoman writing.
The CEMAS’s search activities were attended by different doctoral schools of the Sapienza University in Rome. Particularly the support of the Doctorate programme in History of Europe (directed by prof. Giovanna Motta) has been fundamental for its develop.
