As the end of a ceasefire between Ukrainian troops and pro-Russian separatists meant to facilitate the disarming of separatists in eastern Ukraine draws near, US Secretary of State John Kerry has re-emphasized Putin’s need to display efforts to demilitarize pro-Russian rebels “within hours”. Failure to do so will further deteriorate Russia’s relations with the US and the EU.
