The Associated Press has reported that ISIS has trained and deployed over 400 fighters to Europe to commit atrocities similar to those in Belgium and Paris. The report is based on the information provided by European and Iraqi intelligence agencies that have been monitoring the recruiting and training of the jihadist terrorist group. There are also estimates that up to 600 fighters have been trained specifically in external attacks.Soldiers such as these would have received training in battleground strategies, explosives, and surveillance, among other skills. ISIS’ attacks have become extremely sophisticated and well-considered, which is causing anxiety throughout Europe that events such as Brussels will become less isolated.
