Cyclone Winston devastated Fiji this past Saturday with 184 mph winds and constant rain. A storm of the same magnitude in the Atlantic Ocean would have been declared a Category 5 hurricane. The death toll has reached 20, however, many locals fear that aftermath of the storm could lead to even more trouble for the collective group of small islands. Moreover, the isolated, rural towns have experienced the greatest sufferings, given the lack of infrastructure. Many families have been left without electricity, running water, and steady food supply and the possibility of receiving aid soon looks slim.
